Tootega Scupper Bungs with One Way Valve - Pair
Keep your Tootega sit-on-top kayak dry without losing self-draining ability. These scupper bungs feature a one-way valve that lets water drain out through the hull while blocking water from splashing back up through the scupper holes — giving you the best of both worlds on the water. Sold in pairs.

Tootega Self-Bailing Scupper Bungs | One-Way Valve | Sold in Pairs
What are scupper bungs, and do you need them?
Scupper holes are the drainage holes built into the hull of sit-on-top kayaks. They're designed to let water drain out of the cockpit naturally — but the downside is that water can also push back up through those same holes, especially when paddling into waves, wakes, or in choppier conditions. The result? A wet seat, cold legs, and a less comfortable time on the water.
Standard scupper plugs solve this by blocking the holes entirely — but then your kayak loses its self-draining ability entirely, meaning any water that does get in has nowhere to go.
The Tootega scupper bung solves both problems at once.
How the one-way valve works
These self-bailing scupper bungs are fitted with a one-way valve mechanism. Water that collects in the cockpit can flow downward and out through the scupper holes as normal — but the valve prevents water from travelling back up into the boat from below. You retain the self-bailing function of your sit-on-top kayak, while significantly reducing unwanted water ingress from underneath.
This makes them particularly useful when:
- Paddling in light chop or passing boat wash
- You want to stay drier without fully sacrificing drainage
- Paddling in cooler conditions where a wet seat is uncomfortable
- Fishing from your kayak at anchor in mild conditions
Genuine Tootega accessory — designed specifically for Tootega kayaks
These bungs are made specifically for Tootega sit-on-top kayaks and come in two sizes to match the scupper hole dimensions across the Tootega range. Using the correct size ensures a secure fit and proper valve function. Check the compatibility list carefully before purchasing — using an incorrectly sized bung may result in poor fit or reduced performance.
