Tough dry protection for demanding whitewater

The NRS Men’s Crux Dry Suit provides waterproof and breathable protection for paddlers taking on rugged rapids, remote rivers and runs involving challenging access or portages.

Its four-layer Eclipse™ fabric combines dependable dryness, breathability and toughness, helping the suit withstand the demands of whitewater kayaking both on the river and during the hike in, hike out or portages in between.

NRS’s Paddler’s Cut™ gives the suit an active paddling design, while the official fit classification remains relaxed to accommodate movement and suitable paddling layers.

Waterproof front-entry construction

The waterproof YKK® AquaSeal® front-entry zip makes the Crux straightforward to put on and remove. A hook-and-loop sealed flap covers the entry zip for additional protection.

An exposed YKK AquaSeal relief zip reduces unnecessary bulk while sitting in a kayak and adds useful convenience during longer paddling days.

Adjustable neoprene kayak overskirt

The Crux features a 12.7cm-wide neoprene overskirt designed to fit over the tunnel of a kayak sprayskirt.

Its double-pull hook-and-loop adjustment allows the waist to be tightened from both sides, helping create a close seal between the dry suit overskirt and sprayskirt tunnel.

Latex seals with protective neoprene overcuffs

Latex neck and wrist gaskets provide the suit’s primary seals. Volcano-style GlideSkin™ neoprene overcuffs protect the latex gaskets from exposure and wear.

The wrist cuffs include extended neoprene protection intended to help keep the paddler’s arms drier. Mesh holes at the neck and wrists allow water trapped between the latex gaskets and neoprene overcuffs to drain away.

Built to withstand portages and riverside access

The suit uses deliberately positioned seams to reduce abrasion and wear while walking, hiking and carrying a kayak.

An additional layer of Eclipse fabric reinforces high-wear areas across the seat and lower body, providing extra durability where the suit regularly contacts the kayak, riverbank and surrounding terrain.

Tapered lower-leg design

The legs taper towards the ankles to reduce excess material and drag.

Internal elastic and silicone detailing help create a secure fit around the ankles and reduce the likelihood of the lower legs riding up during active paddling.

Integrated Eclipse fabric socks

Attached waterproof socks are made from Eclipse fabric, maintaining the dry suit’s protection below the ankle.

The socks feature double seam taping around the toe and heel areas to improve durability where pressure and abrasion commonly occur inside paddling footwear.

The fabric socks should be worn inside suitable kayaking footwear and are not designed to be used as external footwear.

Accessible chest storage

A single PFD-friendly splashproof chest pocket provides accessible storage for compact essentials while paddling.

The pocket is splashproof rather than fully waterproof, so water-sensitive items should be placed inside a separate waterproof container or pouch.

Important Product Information

This is an earlier-generation NRS Men’s Crux Dry Suit, for which its original product description and specs can be found on the NRS website. It should not be confused with the current version of the NRS Men’s Crux Dry Suit, which has a revised construction and specification. This is a brand new dry suit, in perfect condition, just in a design that is no longer manufactured.

NRS advises that the waterproof zips must be cleaned and maintained to preserve dryness and extend the working life of the suit. Follow the manufacturer’s dry-wear and waterproof-zip care instructions.

A dry suit is designed to provide waterproof protection but does not provide sufficient warmth on its own. Select suitable insulating layers according to the water temperature, weather conditions and intensity of the planned activity.
