Built to Fit the Agent 88

The Agent 88's hull comes laced at the bow and stern specifically to accept airbags — this BPM Whitewater pair is shaped to fit that lacing, not a generic sack squeezed in and hoped for. One bag sits in the bow, one in the stern, held in place by the lacing cage against the bulkhead and the rear of the saddle.

Why Your Agent 88 Needs Them

Float bags aren't an optional extra on a whitewater open canoe — they're what keeps a swamped boat manageable. Fully inflated, they displace the empty air space at each end of the hull so incoming water has nowhere to go. That keeps a capsized or swamped Agent 88 lighter and easier to recover, instead of turning into a boat full of water that's a serious handful — or a genuine hazard — to bring back to shore.

Built for the River, Not Just the Water

BPM makes these from 210D TPU-coated high tenacity nylon, with 12mm heat and RF-welded seams engineered not to split or delaminate with repeated use. Each bag uses a low-profile, high-flow raft-style dump valve, paired with a urethane fill tube and a micro valve — so you can pump them up fast before you're on the water, then top up by mouth mid-session without pulling the bag out to do it. The material is repairable and recyclable.

Fitting and Looking After Them

Feed each bag through the bow or stern lacing, partially inflate to set the shape, then finish inflating once it's seated. On hot days, let a little air out when the canoe's off the water — trapped air expands in the heat and can overinflate the bag in direct sun. After each session, pull the bags out to dry properly before your next trip; it's good practice for the bags and standard good habit between rivers.

Sold as a Pair

One set covers both ends of the boat — this is the standard airbag configuration for a solo whitewater OC1 like the Agent 88, not a single bag sold separately. Pair with a set of thigh straps and a throw line to complete a properly outfitted whitewater setup.
